We walked in just as five employees of a local business placed their last in a series of calls to order their lunch. They only had half an hour so they called ahead. They were using a menu from the previous establishment. We, of course, not being local businessmen but rather consisting of a scruffy 30-somethingish woman, a scruffy old lady, and a mischievous-looking toddler, had to wait so they could eat first. And eat first they did. They came in at least fifteen minutes after we did, and their plates were taken away before our lunch was ready. We got our drinks and soup eventually while we were waiting, but I had to ask for our food to be put in boxes before it even made it to the table. Katie, in the meantime, was bored out of her skull and eventually ended up running around the room molesting the plants and empty wine bottles. The waiter/owner (and cook?) was polite but not the slightest bit apologetic and I only learned what had transpired when I heard him describing the situation to the other customer. I was
royally pissed at this place, but being spineless I just smiled and paid. And now I'm telling the Internet about it.

Update, June 2004: They went out of business! Wonder why?
